Generic Tegretol (Zeptol Tablets) – Product Information

Generic Tegretol (Zeptol Tablets) is used for treating certain types of epileptic seizures and treats severe pain of the jaw or cheek caused by a facial nerve problem (trigeminal neuralgia).
The active ingredient present in Generic Tegretol is Carbamazepine.
Carbamazepine is available as Biston, Calepsin, Carbatrol, Epitol, Equetro, Finlepsin, Sirtal, Stazepine, Telesmin, Tegretol, EPITAB XR, Teril, Timonil, Trimonil, Epimaz, Carbama/Carbamaze, Amizepin, Carzine, Mazetol, Tegrital, Tegrita, Zeptol, Karbapin, Hermolepsin, Degranol, and Tegretal.

Dosage And Administration

The recommended adult Oral dosage of Generic Tegretol (Zeptol Tablets) for adults is given below:
Epilepsy
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
Initial: 200 mg twice a day.Increase at weekly intervals by adding up to 200 mg/day using a twice a day regimen until the optimal response is obtained. Dosage generally should not exceed 1000 mg daily in children 12-15 years of age, and 1200 mg daily in patients above 15 years of age.
Maintenance: Adjust dosage to the minimum effective level, usually 800-1200 mg daily.
Trigeminal Neuralgia
Adult Dosage:
Initial: On the first day, 100 mg twice a day for a total daily dose of 200 mg. This daily dose may be increased by up to 200 mg/day using increments of 100 mg every 12 hours, only as needed to achieve freedom from pain. Do not exceed 1200 mg daily.
Maintenance: Control of pain can be maintained in most patients with 400-800 mg daily. However, some patients may be maintained on as little as 200 mg daily, while others may require as much as 1200 mg daily.

Side Effects of Generic Tegretol (Zeptol Tablets)

The side effects reported in patients treated with Generic Tegretol are dizziness, drowsiness, unsteadiness, headache, ataxia, fatigue, diplopia, leukopenia, oedema, fluid retention, weight increase, hyponatraemia and blood osmolarity decreased, nausea, vomiting , and allergic skin reactions (dermatitis allergic, urticaria)

Diane-35 is a progestogen-oestrogen combination for the treatment of signs of androgenisation in the woman. At the same time, it is a reliable contraceptive for women who suffer primarily from these signs or in whom acne and similar conditions occur. Diane-35 pills are also used to treat dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and moderate acne in women above the age of 14 years, if at the same time contraception is a desired effect.
The active pharmaceutical ingredients in Diane-35 pills are 2mg cyproterone acetate and 0.035mg ethinyl estradiol. Diane-35 is manufactured by Bayer Schering Pharma in Germany.

Dosage And Administration

One tablet is to be taken daily. The tablets must be taken at about the same time every day, with some liquid as needed. Tablet taking should be continuous. One tablet of Diane-35 is to be taken daily for 21 consecutive days. Withdrawal bleeding should usually occur on day 2 to 3 after the last tablet is taken. Each subsequent pack is started after a 7 day tablet free interval.

The common side effects reported in patients treated with Diane-35 are nausea, abdominal pain, weight increased, headache,depressed mood, mood altered, breast pain, breast tenderness.

Generic Bystolic (Nebistar Tablets) – Product Information

Generic Bystolic Tablets (Nebistar Tablets) is used for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions.
The active ingredient present in Generic Bystolic is Nebivolol Hydrochloride. Nebivolol HCl lowers blood pressure (BP) by reducing peripheral vascular resistance, and significantly increases stroke volume with preservation of cardiac output.
Generic Bystolic is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, decompensated cardiac failure, sick sinus syndrome (unless a permanent pacemaker is in place), severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh > B) and in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of the product. Nebivolol Hydrochloride is available as Bystolic, nebilong, Hypoloc, Lobivon, Nebilet, Nebilox, Nobiten, and Temerit.

Dosage And Administration

The recommended starting adult Oral dosage of Generic Bystolic for most patients, is 5 mg once daily, with or without food, as monotherapy or in combination with other agents. For patients requiring further reduction in blood pressure, the dose can be increased at 2-week intervals up to 40 mg. A more frequent dosing regimen is unlikely to be beneficial.

Side Effects of Generic Bystolic (Nebistar Tablets)

The side effects reported in patients treated with Generic Bystolic Tablets (Nebivolol HCl) are headache(0.4%), nausea (0.2%) and bradycardia (0.2%)

Acute Conditions:(Acute pain states in which there is an inflammatory component)
The recommended dose of Generic Aleve (Naprosyn Tablets) is 500 mg initially followed by 250 mg every six to eight hours as required. The total daily dose should not exceed 1250 mg.

Warnings and Precautions

A doctor should always be consulted if the pain or fever persists or gets worse or if any unusual symptoms arise. Generic Aleve should not be taken, except under close supervision of a doctor, by patients with a history of disease of the stomach or of the intestines (e.g. ulcer). Stomach and intestinal pain should not be treated with Generic Aleve.
Generic Aleve should be taken under medical supervision if you have blood coagulation disorders or are receiving drug therapy that interferes with blood coagulation.
Generic Aleve (Naproxen Sodium) should not be taken with other anti-inflammatory drugs (including other naproxen and naproxen sodium presentations) and pain relieving drugs except under a doctor’s direction.
Generic Aleve can cause allergic reactions in asthmatics or patients allergic to Aspirin and to other anti-inflammatory or pain relieving drugs.
Do not exceed the indicated dosage
A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted if :

if any other drugs (including non prescription medicines) are taken on a regular basis
if heartburn, upset stomach or stomach pain occurs;
if even mild symptoms persist;
if you suffer from another illness
if you are prone to allergies

Generic Fosamax (Osteofos Tablets)– Product Information

Generic Fosamax (Osteofos Tablets) is used to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, and to treat Paget’s disease of the bone.
Generic Fosamax is also used to treat or prevent osteoporosis in men, premenopausal women and postmenopausal women using oestrogen who are receiving corticosteroid medicines, such as prednisone and dexamethasone.
The active ingredient present in Generic Fosamax Tablets is Alendronate Sodium.

Dosage And Administration

Generic Fosamax must be taken at least one half hour before the first food, beverage, or medication of the day with plain water only. To facilitate delivery to the stomach and thus reduce the potential for oesophageal irritation, Generic Fosamax should only be swallowed upon arising for the day with a full glass of water and patients should not lie down for at least 30 minutes and until after their first food of the day.
Treatment of Osteoporosis in Postmenopausal Women and in Men:The recommended dosage is one 70 mg tablet once weekly.
Prevention of Osteoporosis in Postmenopausal Women: The recommended dosage is 5 mg once a day.

Generic Fosamax (Osteofos Tablets) - Side Effects

The following side effects were reported in 1% or more of patients treated with Generic Fosamax 10 mg/day and at a greater incidence than in patients treated with placebo: abdominal pain, dyspepsia, oesophageal ulcer, dysphagia and abdominal distention. Rarely, rash and erythema have occurred.
Additionally, the following side effects were also reported in 1% or more of patients treated with Generic Fosamax 10 mg/day and at a greater incidence than in patients treated with placebo: musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, and headache.

Generic Sinemet (Syndopa Tablets) is used in the treatment of the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, postencephalitic parkinsonism, and symptomatic parkinsonism (parkinsonism-like symptoms) which may follow injury to the nervous system by carbon monoxide intoxication and/or manganese intoxication. * Gastrointestinal bleeding
* Disturbed respiration, which is not always harmful, and can actually benefit patients with upper airway obstruction
* Hair loss
* Disorientation and confusion
* Extreme emotional states, particularly anxiety, but also excessive libido
* Vivid dreams and/or insomnia
* Auditory and/or visual hallucinations
* Effects on learning; there is some evidence that it improves working memory, while impairing other complex functions
* Somnolence and narcolepsy

Dosage And Administration

The initial recommended dosage of Generic Medrol (Predmet Tablets) may vary from 4 mg to 48 mg of methylprednisolone per day depending on the specific condition being treated. Generic Elavil (Tryptomer Tablets) – Product Information

Generic Elavil (Amitriptyline HCl) is used for is used to treat several indications which include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, migraine prophylaxis, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, post-herpetic neuralgia, and insomnia.
Tryptomer Tablets may also be prescribed for other conditions such as cyclic vomiting syndrome post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic pain, tinnitus, chronic cough, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), fibromyalgia, vulvodynia, interstitial cystitis, male chronic pelvic pain syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diabetic peripheral neuropathy, neurological pain, laryngeal sensory neuropathy, chronic fatigue syndrome and painful paresthesias related to multiple sclerosis.
The active ingredient present in Generic Elavil is Amitriptyline Hydrochloride.

Dosage And Administration

Pain Relief:
The recommended starting dose for Amitriptyline HCl for pain is 10mg once a day. The dose is usually taken 1 or 2 hours before normal sleep time. Take the dose regularly every day. It may be 2 weeks before you start to see a real benefit. Your dose of Generic Elavil (Tryptomer Tablets) may be slowly increased to between 50mg and 75mg a day depending on how helpful it is for your pain relief.

Treatment of Depression:
The recommended initial dosage for adults is 75 mg of Amitriptyline HCl (Tryptomer Tablets) a day in divided doses. If necessary, this may be increased to a total of 150 mg per day. Increases are made preferably in the late afternoon and/or bedtime doses.

Generic Elavil Tablets - Side Effects

The common side effects of Generic Elavil Tablets are nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, weakness or tiredness, nightmares, headaches, dry mouth, constipation, difficulty urinating, blurred vision, pain, burning, or tingling in the hands or feet, changes in sex drive or ability, excessive sweating, changes in appetite or weight, confusion and unsteadiness.
Serious side effects of Generic Elavil include slow or difficult speech, dizziness or faintness, weakness or numbness of an arm or a leg, crushing chest pain, rapid, pounding, or irregular heartbeat, severe skin rash or hives, swelling of the face and tongue, yellowing of the skin or eyes, jaw, neck, and back muscle spasms, uncontrollable shaking of a part of the body, fainting, unusual bleeding or bruising, seizures and hallucinating (seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist). Generic Dozile Tablets (Doxinate Tablets) is used for the temporary relief of sleeplessness. It is also used for the treatment of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.
It is also used for the relief of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy. Generic Dozile is also used in combination with antitussives and decongestants for the temporary relief of cold and cough symptoms. It is an antihistamine with hypnotic, anticholinergic, antimuscarinic and local anaesthetic effects.
The active ingredient present in Generic Dozile Tablets is Doxylamine Succinate.

Dosage And Administration

Temporary use in the Relief of Insomnia:
1 tablet 30 minutes before retiring, or as directed by the doctor. Maximum stated dose should not be exceeded. Generic Dozile is recommended for occasional use only i.e. for periods of no longer than a week at a time. If sleeplessness persists, consult your doctor. Generic Dozile is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
Relief Of Nausea And Vomiting During Pregnancy:

Generic Nizoral Cream (Nizral Cream) is used for treating certain fungal infections of the skin. The active ingredient present in Generic Nizoral Cream is Ketoconazole 2%.

Dosage And Administration

Cutaneous candidiasis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis and tinea (pityriasis) versicolor:
It is recommended that Ketoconazole Cream 2% be applied once daily to cover the affected and immediate surrounding area. Clinical improvement may be seen fairly soon after treatment is begun; however, candidal infections and tinea cruris and corporis should be treated for two weeks in order to reduce the possibility of recurrence. Patients with tinea versicolor usually require two weeks of treatment. Patients with tinea pedis require six weeks of treatment. Seborrheic Dermatitis:
Ketoconazole Cream 2% should be applied to the affected area twice daily for four weeks or until clinical clearing.
